August 2nd (Saturday) - Baby & Toddler Gatherings
Join us at the Independence Library, Large Meeting Room. 6361 Selig Blvd., Independence, Ohio from 10:00am – 12:00pm. All are welcome from newborn to 5 years. Siblings are welcome!! An informal get together allowing children to interact with each other and parents the ability to chat. Bring a blanket, infant seat or stroller as there is no baby equipment in the room. August 7th (Thursday) - “Ladies Night Out”
The Mothers of Medina County meet every first Thursday of the month at Starbucks in Medina at 7 p.m. Located on North Court Street. For more info, contact Sue Ritter. Her phone number is (216) 426-4104. (Next: Sept. 4).
August 12th (Tuesday) - Board Meeting
Place to be determined. This will be a closed Executive Session. Open meetings to the entire membership will resume in August — please RSVP if interested in attending to Lisa Trifiletti at (440) 478 8708. Board meetings are open to all members and take place second Tuesday of each month (Next: Sept. 9).
August 19th (Tuesday) at Valleaire golf course. The 15th Annual Dempsey Scheimann and Associates Golf Outing held for the Up Side of Downs.

Lunch is being atered by Anthony’s Restaurant. Sponsors, participants, and benefactors are being sought. Cost of a hole sponsorship is $100, fee for golfers is $90 for a two-man scramble, cart, lunch and dinner. Cost of dinner only is $30 with chances to win a number of door prizes (also welcome).
September 6th (Saturday)–2008 Northeast Ohio Buddy Walk.
Join Wal-Mart, Fox 8, WMJI 105.7, The Plain Dealer, Dunkin Donuts and the Cleveland Indians to celebrate the Abilities and Accomplishments of individuals with Down syndrome at the 8th Annual Northeast Ohio Buddy Walk. The wheel-friendly 1-mile course at Progressive Field is perfect for families and friends! Help us to reach our goal of $150,000!
September 13th–Buddies in the Bleachers
The Buddy Walk Committee has a limited number of FREE tickets available for the 1:05pm Indians vs. Kansas City Royals baseball game at Progressive Field. Tickets are in lower reserve sections 109 & 111 and are available on a first come, first serve basis. Wear your Buddy Walk t-shirt to support The Up Side of Downs and the Buddy Walk.
September 28th – Pumpkin Fest - Patterson Farms Fun Fest event
8765 Mulberry Rd. in Chesterland, 1–4:30 PM. Visit the Family Fun Fest which includes a horse-drawn hayride, pumpkin painting (one per child), and cider and donuts. This is a Free event! Call Lisa Trifiletti (440) 478 8708 to RSVP. Tickets can be picked up day of event. The Iriquois pavilion reserved has been reserved.
October 19th – Buddy Walk - 5K Run - “Miles for Smiles.”
